Slide 5

In this presentation, the term “client-provider interaction” refers to any encounter between a client and a person who works for a family planning service delivery system. Clients can be individuals or couples seeking services.

A provider is someone who actually delivers family planning services, such as a doctor, nurse, midwife counselor or community health worker. Staff such as administrators, receptionists and guards are not generally considered providers, but they also interact with clients. These interactions also affect how clients perceive and feel about services.
