The purpose of this presentation is to familiarize providers
of family planning with information on barrier methods. The
first section of this module provides an overview of barrier
methods while the second section focuses on information specific
to various types of barrier methods. Finally, the third section
covers programmatic concerns related to barrier methods and
reproductive health.
Depending upon the background and needs of your audience, you
may decide to use some or all of the slides or supplement them
with information relevant to your local situation.
At the beginning of the presentation, inform your audience
about the organization of your presentation and how you would
like to structure the discussion (i.e., take questions during
the presentation or wait until the end). Depending on how much
information you decide to use, you may want to break the presentation
into two or more sessions. In its entirety, the presentation
takes approximately 50 to 55 minutes to complete.
