All reproductive health programs for youth need to include basic STI/HIV prevention services. This includes providing information on STIs, counseling clients about safer sexual behaviors, assessing client's risk for STIs, and the promotion and distribution of condoms. If a client might be at risk for infection, he or she should be referred to a clinic that can diagnose and, if necessary, treat an infection.
