Learner Activity

Slide 45 Activity:
Effective Programs for Youth

On a sheet of paper, write down a list of ideas on how to create an "ideal" youth health clinic. Consider the following questions:

  • How would the clinic attract and retain clients?
  • What commodities and services would it provide?
  • Where would it be located?
  • What type of staff would it have?
  • How would youth be involved in its operation?
  • Which contraceptive methods would be provided?
  • What hours would the clinic be open?
  • How much would services cost the client?
  • What type of family/parent involvement would there be?
  • What would the name of the clinic be?

Refer to your answer as you read the following pages. Did you have any misinformation about health providers to youth? Rewrite your answers if necessary to reflect the correct information.
