
IMPACT: A Decade of Global Leadership and Innovation
JULY 2007 — The Implementing AIDS Prevention and Care (IMPACT) project was a global USAID program implemented by Family Health International (FHI) and five partners. One of the world's largest and most ambitious HIV/AIDS programs, from 1997 to 2007 IMPACT provided comprehensive prevention, care, and treatment services while expanding the numbers of people and geographical areas covered by HIV interventions. This report summarizes some of IMPACT's key accomplishments and interventions from its inception to its closing and suggests some possible paths for the way forward.

Adherence Support Worker Training Materials
JUNE 2007 — This two-week adherence support worker course teaches community volunteers to work alongside nurses and doctors. ASWs learn to interact with patients in clinical, community, and home settings where they provide HIV education, treatment support, and ART adherence counseling. They also are trained to participate in the referral network and to reengage treatment defaulters. The material includes technical information and techniques for relationship building and counseling. Modules include didactic sessions, role plays, and group exercises. A CD with PowerPoint presentations is included in the facilitator's guide.

HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment: A Clinical Course for People Caring for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS
DECEMBER 2004 — The updated HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment manual presents new knowledge and skills for delivering and organizing clinical care and treatment services for people living with HIV/AIDS. The guide offers materials for facilitators to train volunteers and offers materials for participants. Microsoft PowerPoint presentations are also available.
