FHI provides cutting-edge work on youth through our research and programs by
- analyzing policies directed at improving the health of youth
- improving understanding of the best ways to support the health of youth through research (for example, on the determinants of risk behavior and cost-effective interventions to prevent or avoid high-risk behavior)
- providing technical assistance in such areas as behavior change interventions with in-school and out-of-school youth, private sector and policy initiatives, and using the media
- coordinating long-term holistic programs for youth
monitoring and evaluating youth programs
- disseminating information on best practices through electronic and print media
FHI also implemented YouthNet, a global program to improve reproductive health and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among people ages 10–24.
