Improving Reproductive Health Choices and Services

Family Health International, one of America's largest nonprofit international biomedical research and technical assistance organizations, is committed to assisting the people of the developing world in planning for healthy families and improving their reproductive health. This includes assuring contraceptive safety, preventing the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, improving maternal care, and facilitating access to quality reproductive health services. FHI also works to close gaps in service delivery and bring the best evidence to bear on health programs and policies.

Reproductive Health Research: Our biomedical, programmatic, and behavioral research has helped establish a solid scientific foundation for public health interventions around the world.

Publications and Materials: FHI's more than 3,000 on-line books, articles, reports, and training materials on reproductive health topics present comprehensive, accurate information for policy makers, community leaders, health providers, and educators.

Training and Education: FHI collaborates with colleagues around the world to build institutional capacity to manage sustainable programs that address public health challenges. We provide technical assistance in research and program management, design and evaluate training programs, develop behavior change communication interventions, and publish field-tested education materials.

FAQs: We answer frequently asked questions and present up-to-date findings on contraception.
