Health Care Provider Survey in Maharashtra is one of five preparatory studies conducted for the AVERT project for providing inputs into the strategic planning to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS in Maharashtra.
These studies were conducted in Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Sangli districts of Maharashtra and included major commercial sex access points; risk behaviors of key target groups; the quality of STI/HIV health care facilities; condom supply and communication needs of the people.
The studies were funded by USAID through FHI, and conducted by premier national research agencies with technical assistance from FHI.
