Communities in hard-hit countries are increasingly facing the responsibility to support and care for children orphaned by AIDS and other vulnerable children.
This one-page document highlights the success of the SCOPE-OVC (the Strengthening Community Project for the Empowerment of Orphans and Vulnerable Children) Project. Last year alone, SCOPE-OVC supported 137,521 orphans and other vulnerable children with life-sustaining care.
The project is funded by USAID, supported by FHI, and implemented by CARE in Zambia.
