This final report documents FHI/IMPACT work in Benin from October 1998 to February 2004.
The IMPACT Project, implemented by FHI, helped the Government of Benin increase the amount and quality of information needed for planning strategic HIV/AIDS prevention and care programming. FHI/IMPACT worked with USAID/Benin to determine that the country needed to undertake special studies. FHI also conducted a response analysis to inventory the country's response to HIV.
At the request of USAID/Benin, FHI/IMPACT helped the Projet National de Lutte Contre le SIDA (PNLS) plan and implement a national behavioral surveillance survey (BSS). FHI/IMPACT also helped PNLS staff upgrade skills in data cleaning, data analysis, and report writing. IMPACT also helped build capacity for social and behavioral science research.
