Technical Skill Building for Implementing Agencies

Technical skill building for implementing agencies and their target populations was provided in the following projects:

Miujiza Players I and II

  • Initial training in AIDS prevention, theater skills
  • Training in holding focus group discussions
  • Interactive communication training
  • Refresher training in AIDS prevention, home-care, theater skills
  • Significant technical assistance in financial management systems

Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO) Secretariat

  • Ongoing technical assistance from AIDSCAP/HQ in planning policy intervention and building advocacy skills
  • Ongoing technical assistance from AHRTAG in resource center development
  • Attendance of senior staff and one board member at Social Impact workshop on managing NGOs

KANCO NGO Members

  • Policy and advocacy skills strengthened through AIDSCAP-funded workshops
  • Access to information strengthened through Resource Center; including provision of information packs
  • Selected NGOs trained by PATH in materials development

National AIDS/STD Control Program

  • Training in computer skills and data entry; on site training in data entry
