The report Stigma and Discrimination in Nepal Community Attitudes, and the Forms and Consequences for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) examines stigma and discrimination through the findings of two studies.

The first study is an exploration of non-HIV positive, community members' attitudes and fears about contact with a person living with HIV/AIDS. It also examines perceptions of the moral meanings of behavior related to the transmission of HIV.

The second study presents the experiences and consequences of stigma and discrimination for People with HIV/AIDS as they confronted the responses of others towards them in families, communities and health care settings.

The findings presented in the study could be used to assist in planning programs to reduce stigma and discrimination related to HIV/AIDS in Nepal, and to identify the care and support that PLHA need.
