The Implementation of the New Blood Safety Policy in Kenya consultative technical meeting was held on April 29-30, 2002.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the new blood safety policy with an aim of strengthening blood transfusion services in Kenya. This is a 46-page report of proceedings of a consultative technical meeting on blood safety policy in Kenya.

This meeting was made possible through the joint effort of the Ministry of Health of Kenya and Family Health International (FHI), with financial assistance from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Blood Safety Project.

Technical support for this meeting came from the National Blood Transfusion Services and the National AIDS/STD Control Programme (NASCOP) of the Ministry of Health, FHI, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Kenya, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency and the Kenya Red Cross Society.
