Family Health International (FHI) has worked with governmental and non-governmental organizations alike to improve reproductive health in Honduras through collaborative research, capacity-building training, and the provision of technical assistance. We have conducted health economics research to help family planning programs increase sustainability, provided training on the reproductive-health effects of domestic violence, and worked to reduce maternal and child mortality through initiatives to improve health care facilities and services.
More Research Highlights
FHI is working with local institutions to expand the availability, utilization, and quality of emergency obstetric care in Honduras by improving the functioning of district hospitals and other facilities.
FHI provided technical assistance to the Asociación Hondureña de Planificación de la Familia (ASHONPLAFA), in carrying out health economics research. The research explored ways of reducing the organization's dependence on donor funding through cost recovery and service diversification initiatives.
