Report on Orphans and Vulnerable Children Published
MAY 2003 — The report The Situation of Orphans in Haiti: A Summary Assessment: A Preliminary Assessment of Orphans and Vulnerable Children with a Focus on Children Affected by HIV/AIDS is a first step for the government of Haiti in developing a body of knowledge about orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and their families in Haiti. As part of developing the report, an FHI/IMPACT-fielded team conducted meetings, interviews, a literature review and field visits. USAID/Haiti used this report to inform the internal and external institutions about designing a strategic and expanded response that targets OVC.
