FHI Expands Access to Contraception and Integrates Family Planning with HIV/AIDS Services

  • With support from the U.S. Agency for International Development and local partners, FHI is working in Haiti to increase use of family planning among those who wish to space or limit births. We are training providers on contraceptive technology and counseling skills and increasing availability of family planning methods.

  • Integrating family planning and HIV/AIDS services has the potential to maximize the effectiveness and impact of both services by providing health care that addresses clients' dual risks of HIV infection and unintended pregnancy. In Haiti, we are providing technical assistance to integrate family planning into an HIV care and prevention program.
