Programs

FHI supports the Dominican Republic and its organizations in reducing HIV and STI transmission and improving HIV/AIDS care and support, mainly among groups at highest risk for HIV infection in the country.

REDSALUD Project

 

Through the REDSALUD project, FHI is supporting health sector reform by increasing the efficiency and equity of basic health services, and strengthening public and private sector basic health and reproductive health activities. 

 

CONECTA Project

 

Through the CONECTA Project, FHI is pursuing comprehensive improvements in the D.R.'s health services.  The project aims to:

  • Increase the use of services and practices to prevent and mitigate HIV/AIDS among those at highest risk
  • Sustain effective public and private sector reproductive health and family planning services
  • Increase the use of selected, effective child survival services
  • Increase the efficiency and equity of local-level basic health care services
