SEPTEMBER 2005 — The Minister of Health of Côte d'Ivoire, Dr. Mabri Toikeusse, recently met with Family Health International staff to discuss HIV projects in Côte d'Ivoire, where FHI implements various US government-funded AIDS activities. FHI staff and Dr. Toikeusse discussed behavior change messages and voluntary counseling and testing for those vulnerable to infection, as well as home-based care and treatment possibilities for those infected by HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The Sept. 14 discussion also covered areas of possible collaboration between the Ivorian government and FHI. The hour-long meeting, conducted mostly in French, took place at the Arlington, Virginia, offices of FHI.
