FHI Releases Final Report on Baltic Sea Regional HIV/AIDS Initiative

report thumbnail imageMAY 2005 — FHI has released the Final Report for the Baltic Sea HIV/AIDS Regional Initiative under the Implementing AIDS Prevention and Care (IMPACT) Project October 2000 to September 2004. The report summarizes the overall design, strategy, activities and output of the FHI-managed IMPACT Project's work in the Baltic Sea Region. The report describes individual subprojects and key regional activities in detail over the duration of the IMPACT Project's work.

HIV/AIDS Prevention among IDUs in Lithuania

lithuania graphicOCTOBER 2004 — Through the financial aid of USAID and technical support of FHI's IMPACT Project, the Central and Eastern European Harm Reduction Network released a multilanguage set of HIV/AIDS prevention best practices. The set HIV/AIDS Prevention amongst Injecting Drug Users in Lithuania: Best Practices highlights the lessons learned in Lithuania when working with the socially isolated group of injection drug users (IDU). The set is available with English, Russian and Lithuanian translations.

Rapid Situation Assessment of Lithuanian Capital Released

 

report thumbnailOCTOBER 2003 — As part of a joint venture, the Klaipeda Addiction Treatment Center and FHI's Baltic Sea Program performed a rapid situation assessment of sex workers in Klaipeda, the capital city of Lithuania during September 2003. The report Sex Work Situation in Klaipeda City, Lithuania Report on the Outcomes of the Rapid Situation Assessment Vilnius – Klaipeda, highlights the conditions and behaviors of sex workers and the work norms as they exists between sex workers and clients. The report also identifies local capacity for developing programs to restrict the spread of HIV infection.
