Family Health International staff around the globe advance our mission through research and public health programs. The organization is structured into four major groups. The largest,
Global Health and Development, aims to transform public health and development through a portfolio of high-quality research and programs at the global, country, and regional levels. This group comprises four divisions:
- Capacity Building and Delivery applies knowledge, improves services, and supports FHI's programmatic work in the field.
- Health and Development Sciences generates knowledge and new tools to transform public health and development.
- Operations Support provides critical support services and strengthens operational capacity.
- Enterprise Project Management Office supports integration of organization-wide business and financial system improvements.
Family Health International's work in research and public health programs is further advanced by these three divisions:
- Strategic Development and Communications drives new approaches to grow and diversify funding, establishes strategic partnerships, and facilitates communication with internal and external audiences.
- Corporate Administration assures high standards of legal, regulatory, and operational compliance and promotes personal growth and career development.
- Finance serves as the functional leader of all corporate finance and accounting operations, and includes the IT services needed to connect our complex enterprises and improve our efficiency.
Family Health International is affiliated with Novella Clinical, a for-profit contract research organization specializing in internet-based management of clinical trials conducted at multiple study sites.
Family Health International is led by an 8-member executive team under the direction of a board of directors. Our multinational staff offer a broad range of technical and managerial skills. Our scientific staff publish in leading peer-reviewed journals, and senior staff members serve on advisory bodies of national agencies and multilateral organizations. The majority of staff are based in field offices in developing countries worldwide.
Headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, Family Health International maintains management centers in Bangkok, Thailand; Nairobi, Kenya; and Washington, DC.
