From our original home and corporate headquarters in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, FHI has expanded in size and scope. We now operate additional management centers in Washington, D.C., Bangkok, and Nairobi, and maintain offices in 37 countries.
We develop and manage worldwide networks of investigators addressing the questions and challenges in reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases. Our technical and programmatic staff incorporate our findings in their technical assistance and publications, combining the latest information from research with lessons learned and "best practices" for addressing public health needs.
Every day we translate our global reach into local action as our staff of more than 1,600 skilled professionals work with governments, community-based and nongovernmental organizations, faith-based programs, schools, universities, hospitals, health centers, and other partners in more than 70 countries to:
- Stop the spread of HIV
- Care for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
- Improve reproductive health
- Strengthen family planning services
- Prevent the spread of malaria, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases
