FHI Appoints Senior Vice President -- November 22, 1999
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - Family Health International (FHI), a world leader in clinical research, education and technical assistance in reproductive health, has appointed Dr. Neil Frazer, MB, ChB, as Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs for its Health Futures Division.
FHI's Health Futures Division provides clinical research services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device manufacturers. These services are provided in association with PharmaLink, FHI's web-enabled clinical research services subsidiary.
Dr. Frazer qualified as a physician from Edinburgh University, Scotland, in 1979 and spent six years as an anesthesiologist before joining the pharmaceutical industry. His research experience covers all phases of clinical research trials, with particular expertise in the fields of cardiovascular, critical care, anesthesia and analgesia.
"Neil brings over 20 years of health-care experience to FHI, including 10 years within Glaxo Wellcome and a senior leadership role at ClinTrials Research," Dr. Al Siemens, FHI Vice Chairman and CEO, said today in announcing the appointment.
"His extensive expertise will help us grow our client partnerships in clinical research, particularly in women's health and infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS. Having a strong bridge between our experienced clinical research staff, and our superior Web-based process for the management and conduct of clinical trials, we are in an excellent position to provide high quality, timely clinical studies worldwide for partner companies."
FHI was a pioneer in the clinical research organization (CRO) business when it formed Clinical Research International (CRI) in 1986 to conduct clinical trials on behalf of pharmaceutical companies. CRI was later sold to ClinTrials Research.
