FHI to Share Lessons from 10-Year Global AIDS Project
WASHINGTON, June 22, 2007 — FHI is celebrating a decade of global leadership and innovation managing USAID's Implementing AIDS Prevention and Care (IMPACT) Project. The event will take place June 28 at the George Washington University, and will feature multimedia presentations by technical and program leaders from FHI and partner organizations, IMPACT clients, and USAID staff.
Presentations will highlight IMPACT's contributions in the following areas:
providing antiretroviral therapy in resource-constrained settings
expanding counseling and testing
developing palliative care programs
using strategic information to monitor trends in and responses to the epidemic
strengthening capacity to serve orphans and other vulnerable children
Funded by the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief through USAID, and implemented by FHI and partners, the IMPACT Project has helped millions of people affected by HIV and AIDS in more than 70 countries.
